| Notes | The IBM PC XT (eXtended Technology) was the follow-on to the wildly successful IBM PC. It was sold in basically the same box but there were numerous significant changes. Most importantly IBM sold the machines standard with a hard drive. Additional changes include the addition of three extra slots and the elimination of the rarely used cassette port. The basic architecture of the machine was not changed. |

The IBM PC XT in my collection is a complete and original machine that still has the original IBM/Miniscribe 10 MB full-height hard disk running true.
The machine came equipped with a Princeton Graphics display system compatible with IBM CGA.
The inside of the machine shows off the extra ISA slots that IBM Provided with the XT.
And the display shows that the machine is working perfectly.
Also included with the machine are the original IBM manuals: DOS 2.0, BASIC and the XT Guide to Operations.

I loaned one of those computers to my cousin. She later threw it out, thinking that it was too old to be of any use to anyone. I nearly killed her. I really really wish I had one of these. Care to sell?

What a nice, clean specimen. Amazing that the original hard drive still works! you probably could keep the neighbors awake typing on that keyboard at night.

In 1985, they also shipped those with two FH- FDDs (like the 5150 PCs) instead of one FH-FDD and one FH-HDD.
